Pastor Robert L. Wright

Hello!  I began my ministry at Bethel Baptist as Senior Pastor in 1995.  It's been an exciting ministry!  My wife Debbie and I have been married for 24 years and have five great children - one on the mission field participating in The World Race (www.stevewright.theworldrace.org), two in college (one at LeTourneau University in Texas training to be a missionary pilot and one at Olivet University studying Mass Communications) and two in high school.  Because of my love for families and the Word of God, I have focused my ministry building strong families, getting involved in the surrounding community and preaching expository and practical messages.

Our church is growing and has active children, teen, college and adult programs.  We strive to reach out to our community in significant ways - including a monthly food & clothing distribution (C.A.R.E. Center) and a Professional Counseling Center (Discovery Counseling)

I received my theological training at the Grand Rapids School of the Bible & Music (Pastoral Ministries), Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo. (Pastoral Ministries) & Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Mi (Bachelor's degree in Religious Education).  Besides the church in Britton, we have also ministered in the Grand Rapids, Mi. area (as Pastor of Youth & Education) and Muskegon, Mi (as Pastor of Youth, Education & Worship).

I received a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Michigan Theological Seminary in 2003.  I am a State Licenced Counselor (Limited Licensed Psychologist) and direct a Professional Counseling Center at the church which serves both the church and surrounding community (Discovery Counseling - www.discoverycounsel.org).

I have a heart for missions and have organized and/or participated in short-term mission trips to Mexico City, Guatemala, Haiti, Italy, Alaska, New York City, Florida & Louisiana (Hurricane relief), Philadelphia, and Chicago.

I enjoy life and love to be with people!  My interests include woodworking, reading, camping, music, watersports, traveling and hanging out with my family.

My wife attended Grand Rapids School of the Bible & Music and received a Bachelor's Degree from Spring Arbor University in Family Life Education in 2004.  She is devoted to our family and enjoys reading, crafts, chocolate, scrapbooking, and Biblical Archaelogy.
