Q: Who Are We?

A: We are a group of redeemed people trying to learn what it means to love and serve God, attempting to live out our faith by His grace. We gather on Sundays to worship, praise and know Him through His Word, and meet throughout the week for training, service and fellowship.

Q: What Are our Goals?

A: There are five goals for which we constantly strive.

  • To adore God and reflect His image in our worship, preaching, fellowship and service. (Worship)
  • To expose, educate and disciple others concerning the salvation and grace of God. (Evangelism)
  • To involve and enable believers in the use of appropriate spiritual gifts in the church. (Discipleship)
  • To send out and financially support missionaries in this country and around the world. (Missions)
  • To minister to the spiritual, physical and social needs of this church and community. (Outreach)

What does this mean practically?

  • We want our church to be a dynamic, spiritual resource where people meet God.
  • We want the unsaved to repent; and the saved to grow spiritually and reproduce themselves.
  • We want ministry to take preference over policy; Relationships to matter more than superficial rules.
  • We want believers to support and share in the life of the church thru service, giving and commitment.
  • We want everyone to understand Scriptural principles & apply them to life.

Q: What do we Believe?
A: The following is an abbreviated version of our full doctrinal statement

The Bible is God’s inspired and holy Word. It is without error in the original manuscripts. It is the final authority in all matters of faith and life.

Jesus, the perfect Son of God, paid the full price of our sin with His shed blood on the cross. Jesus physically rose from the dead and presently sits on His throne where He intercedes for believers.

Salvation is the gift of eternal life that is personally received by faith in Jesus. It’s not earned. The church was established by the Holy Spirit to bring the message of salvation to all men, and provides a place for spiritual growth and discipleship.

Communion and baptism by immersion are ordinances given by Jesus for believers to observe. Spiritual authority resides in the local church membership. Leaders are elected from this body. The Pastor is God’s called Servant/Leader and functions as an elder and minister of the Grace of God.

The future of mankind is certain and in the following order: Jesus will return in the clouds someday to receive believers unto Himself; the Seven-Year Tribulation Period will reveal the Anti-Christ to the world; Jesus will then return to the earth to establish a 1,000 year kingdom on the earth; and finally, Satan and all unbelievers will be punished with everlasting destruction.

Q: What is our church like?

A: The following statements help explain the personality of our church.

  • We teach the historic truths of the faith and are dispensational in our approach to Scripture.

  • We are non-charismatic, but believe worshipping God with our emotions is essential to spiritual growth.

  • We believe the miraculous gifts (tongues, miracles, healing, prophecy) were given to the early church to help establish it and that the fruit of the spirit (love, joy, peace, etc.) is a better indication of spirituality than the miraculous gifts of the Spirit.

  • We stress the holiness of God, but are not legalistic.

  • We stress the unity of the Spirit, but don’t require uniformity in expression.

  • We do not take a strong stand concerning a particular English translation of the Scriptures.

  • We are fundamental in doctrine, but progressive in our approach to ministry.

  • We believe God allows for a variety of appropriate musical styles to be used in worship.

  • We believe God instituted and blessed marriage between a man and a woman, and graciously permits divorce/remarriage in certain situations.

  • We believe God has given the role of leadership in the home and the church to men, and that women are equal in essence and should be actively involved in a variety of significant ministries.

  • We believe every member should be enthusiastically involved in supporting the church with their time, abilities, money and prayers.

  • We believe every believer is a missionary, and that some will be called to serve in all parts of the world.
